Lost brioche with Madagascar vanilla caramel & fleur de sel

French toast is one of those simple pleasures that brings back memories of childhood, and when you add vanilla caramel , it becomes simply irresistible.


🍞 French toast with vanilla caramel (serves 4)

Ingredients

  • 4 thick slices of stale brioche
  • 325g of whole milk
  • 50g of full liquid cream
  • 100g of eggs (≈ 2 large eggs)
  • 25 g of sugar
  • 1/2 vanilla bean
  • 1 knob of butter for cooking
  • 4 tablespoons of Madagascar vanilla caramel & fleur de sel


Preparation

Prepare the base

In a bowl, beat the eggs with the milk, scraped vanilla and brown sugar.

Soak the brioche

Dip each slice into the mixture for a few seconds on each side.
It should be nice and soft without falling apart.

Brown

In a pan, melt a knob of butter over medium heat.
Brown the brioche slices for 1 minute per side, until they are golden brown and slightly crispy on the outside.

Drizzle with caramel

Serve immediately, generously coat with Madagascar vanilla caramel and add a light vanilla cream for an even more indulgent touch.
